Privacy policy

What we collect
We may store your account email and profile name, saved searches, saved vehicles, Garage information you provide, vehicle registration/VIN details used for lookup, comparison activity and payment/valuation status. Payment-card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by AI Car Finder NZ.
Vehicle data
When you request a plate or VIN lookup, the identifier is sent server-side to CarJam to retrieve permitted vehicle information. The Garage integration is not designed to request registered-owner names, addresses or other owner personal details.
How we use information
We use account and vehicle information to provide recommendations, save your Garage, compare vehicles, calculate cost to change, fulfil paid valuations, improve search quality, prevent duplicate charges and support users.
Service providers
We use service providers including Supabase for authentication/database services, OpenAI for optional natural-language interpretation, Stripe for payments, Resend for transactional email and CarJam for NZ vehicle data/valuation services. Each provider processes information needed to deliver its part of the service.
Retention and control
Signed-in account data remains associated with your account until it is deleted or retention is otherwise required. You can edit or remove Garage and saved items from the product. Contact us if you need help with account or privacy requests.
Security
API keys and payment secrets are kept server-side. We use authenticated accounts and database access controls to separate user data. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so we also minimise the sensitive data we request.
